I started my career as a secretary in the pharmaceutical industry, where I spent 10 years working in a very corporate environment. It gave me an early insight into how organisations work, how different people and personalities interact and, perhaps most importantly, how much relationships and communication matter.
From there I moved into Medical Devices and into a very different role as a Product Manager still very much within a corporate environment, but now with greater commercial responsibility.
I made the jump to Marine when our kids were small - a world I would go on to be part of for around 20 years, Marine to me became more of a lifestyle when we bought a Westerly Konsort meaning I literally lived and breathed marine - Work, rest and play!! During that time, I worked in a variety of business development roles across logistics (including marine), sailing holidays and yacht brokerage.
The industries, products and customers may have changed, but one thing remained constant: business is about people! Building relationships, understanding different personalities and how they like to be communicated with.
Today, I bring the corporate, the commercial and the people experience to Camscoach.
As an accredited LEGO® Serious Play® Methodology Facilitator and DISC Personality Practitioner, I work with teams to help them understand each other better, communicate more effectively and make the most of the knowledge, experience and talent you have within your team to help them move forward with their projects.

I was a late starter in finding out what I really wanted to do, there were two roads available back then, academic or work. I chose work and did electronic engineering and then “computers” as my dad would refer to my job for many years.
Truth is, I never really knew what I did and why, I just knew that it felt good to help other people get the best from these “computers”, the stuff of work was much less important to me.
It was not until I finished my first real career after 20 years in the Medical Device industry, that I realised that my day job focus was insignificant, what was significant was my cross industry role as one of the chairs of GS1 Healthcare, combining my technology background with a clear purpose of better patient outcomes through acknowledgement that humans make errors and technology can help to reduce them.
As a technologist at that time, I had a tendency to look for solutions in technology to address the shortcomings of being a human. Now my work is to address those shortcomings by treating humans as a collective means of achieving better outcomes and seeking to understand and share how the right conditions can be set for that human magic to happen.
I am still heavily involved in technology research and application, although my stance is different. The role of the machine is evolving and the line is even more blurred.
Now I focus on our current leaders and leaders of the future, educating, mentoring and coaching.
Through research, I keep a healthy eye on the emerging technologies that are starting to shape and steer, rather than just execute.
